The Basil Project

The Basil Project is a collaborative project between McKinley-Thatcher's second and third graders and our community.  Our students work with Adelitas, a local business and incredible McKinley-Thatcher supporter.

In the project, we plant and harvest cilantro, chili peppers, and other spices that can be used by the restaurant. Students learn how to give back to their community while they are engaged in inquiry-based science skills that prepare them for the 21st century!  Come watch us grow!!
